Building the Horizon Calculator
A question while hiking grew into a tool for exploring antenna height, Earth’s curvature, and terrain between two locations. I describe how the Radio Horizon Calculator developed through repeated testing, what the data taught me, and how experience planning live broadcasts shaped the questions the tool needed to answer.
