About Me
I’m Pat Stahl. I’ve spent more than 20 years working in media technology at Disney/ABC, NBCUniversal, and HBO.
Much of my career has involved helping organizations navigate complicated change. This has meant introducing new technology, improving how teams work, and keeping critical operations running while the business evolves. The work has included NBCUniversal’s $65 million response to the FCC Spectrum Repack and the launch of localized 24x7 streaming news services across eight ABC markets.
I have experienced the industry as an executive, an operator, and an industry partner. I also understand the perspective of a technology buyer. My work frequently brings me together with manufacturers, regulators, and government leaders. This has included engagement with Congress, the FCC, and the U.S. military. These conversations often take place where business needs, technical realities, and the public interest meet.
My leadership approach is grounded in ownership, collaboration, and context. I believe people make better decisions when they understand why the work matters and how it supports the larger organization. I listen carefully, ask straightforward questions, and include the people closest to the work in the conversation.
I remain genuinely curious about where media technology is heading, particularly how AI, automation, and other emerging tools can help people work more effectively. I am interested in what these technologies can actually do, not simply what is being promised.
Developing people is also important to me. I seek out opportunities to mentor emerging leaders and support students who are the first in their families to attend college, as well as recent graduates entering the workforce.
If we met at IBC, or if you are working through an interesting challenge, I would be glad to hear about it and continue the conversation.
