I have spent much of my career working where technology decisions become operational realities: a new facility opens, a streaming service launches, or a production team needs to get the next show on air. I enjoy understanding how the pieces fit together, making difficult decisions with the people involved, and staying with the work until it is finished.

Over more than 20 years at Disney/ABC, NBCUniversal, and HBO, I have worked across live production, engineering, IT, and content distribution. Most recently, as Vice President of Technology at WABC-TV, I led a 22-person organization supporting Eyewitness News and Live with Kelly and Mark. Earlier roles took me into the studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza and across NBCUniversal’s local stations. Those experiences taught me how much reliable operations depend on clear communication, preparation, and trust.

After about a decade in technology and two moves into management, I decided to invest more deliberately in my development as a leader. I earned my MBA at Columbia Business School, where two intensive years helped me sharpen my judgment, build a stronger foundation in business, and learn alongside people with very different experiences. My study of Crew Resource Management, an approach developed in aviation, also deepened my interest in how teams communicate and make decisions under pressure.

Three principles guide how I lead: collaboration, context, and ownership. I want people to contribute their expertise, understand why their work matters, and have clear responsibility and the authority to act. My job is to make priorities and tradeoffs understandable, resolve obstacles, and help people grow into greater responsibility.

Mentoring is an important part of that work. For the past four years, I have mentored students in Baruch College’s technology leadership program, including many first-generation college students. Two recent mentees have gone on to full-time roles at Spectrum and the MTA.

I live in New York City with my wife, Sarah, and our son, Sam. Away from work, I enjoy cycling, hiking, and traveling with my family. My curiosity also finds its way into the essays, tools, and practical guides I share here.

I am interested in executive leadership opportunities and selected advisory work where I can help an organization make a significant change and deliver something useful.
